Veterans Day is tomorrow, Saturday, November 11, 2017. Here are my top five music video picks for honoring the men and women of the United States military.
The men and women that serve this country by putting on the uniforms of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Coast Guard and the reserves of all the branches pledge to defend our freedom and way of life without ever meeting us. They know that they may be asked to put themselves in harm’s way when they make this choice to serve. Many have and will pay the ultimate price for us and do it willingly to preserve the country they love so dearly.
On Veterans Day, and every day, we should remember their sacrifices and honor them as the true American Heroes they are … each and every one.
With that in mind here are my top five picks for videos that help to honor those men and women…
Toby Keith “American Soldier”
This song is as straightforward as a song can be about the choice the people that choose to serve in our military and an obvious choice for this list of music videos to honor our Veterans.
Dierks Bentley “Home”
Dierks sings about what makes this country great, the differences that weave together and make this the greatest place on the planet to call home and those are many of the reasons the men and women choose to defend it to the end.
Craig Morgan “I’ll Be Home Soon”
While this one lyrically doesn’t necessarily make you think of a soldier, it can fit the idea so perfectly. Our men and women in uniform spend a lot of time away from their own families and are constantly telling them over the phone “I’ll be home soon” while those families pray that the statement is true. Add the fact that it sung by Craig Morgan, a veteran of the United States Army (he spent nine and a half years in the Army and another six and a half years in the reserves) and it is a perfect music video to include on my list.
Rodney Atkins “It’s America”
This song is another one that shines the light on what makes this country the greatest nation in the world. It is what the military defends day and night, every day of the year, year after year.
Trace Adkins “Arlington”
The men and women know that they may be called upon to pay the ultimate price for freedom. As I stated earlier, they make the choice to serve knowing this and ready to lay their lives down for the United States of America as well as for you and me. That is why this song is on my list.
We can never say Thank You enough to the men and women that have, do and will serve in the military. For those that made and will make the ultimate sacrifice, Thank You will never be enough.
Happy Veterans Day to every member of the United States military, past, present and future.
