Why does Brett Young love touring? Of course he is a musician, so there is that reason. However, there’s more to it than that for the singer-songwriter.
Brett just kicked off his first headlining tour last night (10/17) with special guest Carly Pearce in Colorado Springs.
When asked about being on the road for concerts he responded, “I love touring.” Brett elaborated on the subject saying, “The opportunity to share the music at the end of the day, once it’s produced and you’ve written it, to get out on the road and actually play it every night is the real opportunity to see how it’s connecting with people.”
Brett knows that there are other ways of getting music out to people, especially these days, “You have social media outlets,” he admits, “You get to see Twitter and Instagram and all that stuff and people have some things to say.”
However, he still feels that live music in front of the fans is the best test for his music, “When you watch a full audience, full of people and their reaction to stuff it’s kind of like my barometer of how the song is going to do.”
Brett’s latest single “Like I Loved You” must be getting a good reaction in concert because it is climbing the charts in the top 20 on the country radio airplay charts this week. Listen for the song on B104.
