Are you waiting to find out what artist filled Team Blake on The Voice Season 13 for Blake Shelton? Wait no more.
Last night’s (10/10) episode of The Voice brought the Blind Auditions to a close for this season of competition. Blake needed just one more artist to complete Team Blake.
Kristi Hoopes is a 19-year-old from Parker, Colorado. She began singing when she won her third grade talent show. She has been studying at Middle Tennessee State University and working on getting a music business degree. However, her true dream is to be a singer.
Kristi calls herself a “Rocky Mountain Hippie Chick” and chose to perform her own version of “Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love” by Trisha Yearwood for her Blind Audition. Blake pressed his button first. After some discussion with Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine hit his button knowing that Miley would try to help him get the singer for his team. As the performance was nearing the end Jennifer Hudson also pressed her button.
Right out of the gate Miley kept her word and began trying to convince Kristi that the best choice for her would be to join Team Adam. Adam fought hard for Kristi himself and Jennifer was equally passionate about persuading her to choose Team JHud. Blake took it all pretty much in stride and calmly presented his case as to why Kristi should choose the coach that does “country freakin’ music.” Despite a great effort by the other coaches to keep Kristi off Team Blake, she did choose Blake as her coach.
Blake, Miley and Jennifer all added a single artist to each of their teams and Adam added two to bring all the teams to a total of 12 artists each ending the Blind Audition round of this season’s competition.
The Battle Rounds are next on season 13 of The Voice. Blake has country music superstars Rascal Flatts helping his team as mentors. Joe Jonas from the group DNCE will help Team Adam, Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus will help her team and one of the founding members of the group Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland will mentor with Jennifer’s team.
The Battle Rounds begin Monday, October 16th at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on season 13 of The Voice on NBC.
