Over the weekend Jason Aldean surprised everyone with a special tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas Shooting on Saturday Night Live. It was his first public appearance since the deadly shooting, and one of the few cold openings the show has ever had in memory of the innocent lives lost.
With a guitar in his hand, Jason opened the show with a message of hope before performing a powerful cover of “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty, who passed away the day after the shooting.
The day after his SNL appearance, he and his wife Brittany visited Las Vegas’ University Medical Center of Southern Nevada to meet with patients who were injured. 58 people were killed and hundreds were injured in the mass shooting.
