The Blind Auditions continued on The Voice Season 13 last night (10/2) with Blake Shelton pressing his button for artists. Which ones choose him as their coach?
38-year-old Grandview, Iowa native Adam Cunningham moved to Nashville, TN to pursue his dreams of being a singer. He has made some small steps in that direction by being a session singer in Music City USA and getting to sing demos for writers and publishers. However, he wants to get to go into the studio and record music of his own for his own albums. Last night he walked on the stage at The Voice to take a huge step in that direction.
Adam performed the song “Midnight Rider” by The Allman Brothers Band. His rendition of the southern-fried rock song motivated Blake and eventually Jennifer Hudson to press their buttons. After both coaches gave very spirited arguments about joining their teams, Adam choose to join Team Blake.
Noah Mac is a 17-year-old from Dublin, California. He began singing in front of people at the age of seven when he sang a song at his sister’s funeral. Since then he has built a studio in his families shed in the backyard. That is where he has worked on his skills and spends a lot of his time.
Noah chose to sing the song “Way Down We Go” by Kaleo. His voice held something that eventually made Jennifer and Blake press their buttons. The two coaches again went head-to-head to claim another artist for their team. IN the end Noah made a somewhat unexpected (at least to me) choice to go with Blake as his coach.
Anna Catherine DeHart is a 23-year-old from Sikeston, Missouri. She started singing in school talent shows and started her own band in high school. Following high school Anna moved to Nashville to study music business at Belmont University while continuing to chase her dreams of being a singer.
Anna sang Maren Morris‘ latest single “I Could Use A Love Song” for her Blind Audition. We saw just a little of that performance as part of an artists montage on last night’s episode of The Voice. That clip also revealed that Blake and Adam turned for her, but Anna chose to became part of Team Blake.
With three new artists added to his team Blake now has a total of seven on Team Blake. Miley also added three to double the size of her team to six artists. Adam scored two artists to bring Team Adam to a total of five members.
New coach Jennifer Hudson won the night adding four artists to Team JHud bringing her team to the highest total of artists so far at eight members. You can check out which artists are on each team currently here.
The Blind Auditions continue tonight on season 13 of The Voice starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
