Veterans Day is just around the corner (November 11th) and Trace Adkins has released a patriotic and emotional single leading into that day. The song is called “Still A Soldier.”
Trace talks about the song in the video above. He explains that the song is intended to be a salute to those men and women who have served this country with pride and would go back to service in a heartbeat if asked, even if they have been wounded during their previous tour of duty. He also explains that the song touches on the subject of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
In an email to country radio stations about the song, Trace is quoted as saying, “We recorded this song well over a year ago and my intent was always to release it as a tip of my hat to those who have served. For those who have crawled off the battlefield but still stand for the anthem…this is for you.”
Trace has been a long time supporter of the military men and women. He has been on 12 USO Tours and played for the troops in places like Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Italy and Spain to name a handful.
He has recorded many songs during his career to honor the brave men and women of our military including one I personally feel is among the top two or three nest ever to pay homage to our military. The song “Arlington” pays tribute to the men and women that are true American Heroes and paid the ultimate price for our freedom in this country.
This new song from Trace is just as poignant toward the soldiers that may not have paid the ultimate price for freedom, but the price they paid is still higher than most people would be willing to pay for people they have never met. That price is still way higher than you or I could ever repay for their sacrifices. Listen to the song “Still A Soldier” by Trace Adkins in the lyric video below and see what you think of it.
By the way, as a radio DJ I still want Trace’s speaking voice!
