BREAKING NEWS! Finally, we have official word… Variety has reported that Luke Bryan has officially signed on to be a judge on the new American Idol!

According to reports, there is only a week left until auditions start in front of the judges, and the show has confirmed Lukey will take the second seat next to Katy Perry! With the reboot, Idol is looking to have a panel of three judges, not four, so WHO will take the third spot?

While the third spot has yet to be locked down, word from the inside is that Lionel Richie, who was reported to have been in advanced talks to join the show, appears to no longer be in the running. Charlie Puth and Keith Urban were a few other names that were being thrown around. While we don’t know who the third judge is yet, we do know we won’t have to wait long since auditions in front of the judges are supposed to start in one week.

To be honest, I said I wouldn’t watch the American Idol reboot…but now it’s guaranteed I HAVE to!
