Cole Swindell was visibly moved by a fan at a recent Meet-N-Greet and the story of how one of his songs helped him when he lost his son.
The video above is the most recent episode of Cole’s “Swindell Vision” videos on his YouTube channel. The episodes give fans a behind the scenes look at Cole’s life on the road and his career.
Cole explains that the Meet-N-Greets are one of his favorite parts of concert day for him. It gives him a chance to connect directly with the people that give him the chance to live out his dreams and have a career.
Cole’s song “You Should Be Here” was about when he personally lost his father. I have no doubt that writing and recording the song helped Cole deal with the loss. That song has help many others deal with personal losses as well.
Enter Gary Rud to Cole’s Meet-N-Greet. Gary explains how much that song meant to him after the loss of his son U.S. Air Force Sgt. Patrick Rud back in 2014. Gary begins to be overcome by emotion while talking with Cole and it is obvious that Cole is also quite moved by the conversation. Cole also explains how special the bracelet honoring Patrick is that Gary gave to him.
We are sorry for your loss Gary. Thanks for your sacrifice to Patrick (although thanks will never be enough). Thanks for an amazing song that has helped so many to Cole Swindell.
