Luke Bryan is setting off on his 9th Annual Farm Tour soon and he says that the yearly venture is rewarding and challenging.
Luke’s annual tour this year will feature special guests Jon Pardi, Adam Craig, The Peach Pickers (Rhett Akins, Dallas Davidson and Ben Hayslip), Jon Langston and DJ Rock. The tour will start in Lincoln, Nebraska September 28th and make a total of six stops ending October 7th in Centralia, Missouri.
The tour stops are on farms instead of at actual concert venues. Luke says that he enjoys that aspect of the tour, “I’m very proud of it, and to be able to go into these, you know, these rural small towns and put on a big show for the farmer down the road and their kids and stuff like that, it’s fun stuff.”
However, the concerts are about more than just having a good time. Luke uses the proceeds to provide scholarships to agricultural students in the area that the concerts take place, “To do scholarships is very rewarding,” he shares.
These types of concerts are not easy events to put on. “There are challenges with Farm Tour,” Luke admits, “When, you know, weather blows through and every tour bus and semi-truck we’ve got we’ve got to pull out with a big John Deere tractor, you’ve got to get creative out there on Farm Tour.” Still, for Luke and his crew it is all worth it, “We love it every year.”
This year’s Farm Tour will make a stop just down the road from us here in Bloomington-Normal on the Ayers Family Farm in Edinburg, IL Friday, October 6th. Keep listening to Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104 for details on how you can WIN tickets to that stop on Luke Bryan’s 2017 Farm Tour.
