Kenny Chesney says that he connects with the lyrics to his new song “All The Pretty Girls,” especially when it comes to the part that talks about betting on yourself.

Kenny admits that when he was younger he didn’t listen to people around him telling him what to do, he instead listened to the pretty girls. So, there is that connection to the song’s lyrics.

However, he shares that his bigger connection is with lyrics later in the song. He refers to the lines below in the song…

All the seventeens said I’m getting outta dodge
All the big dreams said I’m selling all I got
All the high rollers busy placing their bets
Me, I’m heading south ’cause all the pretty girls said

“That was me … that was a lot of my friends that had similar journeys as mine in this town and people that I’ve met across the world that do this for a living,” Kenny says, “or anybody that wants to get the hell out, you know? Because there is this moment when you decide to sell all of your stuff and go chase a dream and there’s this moment where you decide that you’re leaving home and there’s this moment where you decide that you just want a different life.”

When the doubters chime in as you take a big leap like Kenny did, you have to make a big bet on yourself.

Kenny says that sometimes you have to go find opportunities and not wait for them to come to you, “when you’re a dreamer and you’re in the music business, you’re always betting on what’s to come to you. It’s not laid in your lap. You have to go get it. In a way, that’s a high roller placing their bets such as life, nothings for sure.”

The song can be found on Kenny’s #1 album Cosmic Hallelujah available everywhere now.
