John and T.J. Osborne form the duo Brothers Osborne. The two took a new approach to get started on their sophomore album and that path could have the project already complete.
John explains that the brothers decided they didn’t want the usual Nashville vibe when they set out to work on their second studio album, “So, we went down to Florida, just to get out of Nashville and kinda clear our heads a little bit, with Jay Joyce our producer.”
The three decided to stay and work in a place as stress-free as possible, “We shacked up in a beach house,” John shares.
He explains that they really only wanted to get the project started, but that wasn’t what happened. “You know, we intended on maybe leaving with anywhere between six to eight songs,” John confesses, “we ended up recording 11 songs.”
Does that mean the project is complete? “I can’t come out and say that we’ve finished our record, but we got pretty damn close if we didn’t finish,” John states.
How does John feel about this beach recording experiment? “I feel very, very, very good about this record,” he proclaims.
Brothers Osborne are currently climbing the charts with their song “It Ain’t My Fault” from their debut album Pawn Shop.
You can see the reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Duo of the Year live when Brothers Osborne plays at the Logan County Fair in Lincoln, IL Saturday night, August 5th. Get the concert details here.
There is no title for the sophomore album from Brothers Osborne yet or a release date. However, I personally can’t wait to hear what “beach music” from the duo sounds like.
