The new country music trio known as Midland is getting known nationwide because of their debut hit song “Drinkin’ Problem.” However, how much do you really know about the men that make up the musical trio? Here is your chance to find out more about them.
To begin with, the three members of the group are Mark Wystrach (lead vocals), Cameron Duddy (bass guitar, background vocals), and Jess Carson (lead guitar, background vocals).
Two of the members were already in “show business” before the group was formed. Mark Wystrach was an actor and underwear model. Cameron Duddy was a music video director and even won an MTV Video Music Award for his work on the Bruno Mars music video for “Locked Out Of Heaven.”
The three musicians met at a wedding where the idea of forming the group began.
The trio is from Texas, so you might think that the name of the trio comes from the Texas town named Midland … but, you would be wrong. The trio’s name is actually a nod to country music icon Dwight Yoakam and his song “Fair To Midland.” I guess, when you think about the song’s lyrics it is kind of named after the Texas town as well.
The debut single “Drinkin’ Problem” from the trio has reached the top 15 on the country radio airplay singles charts and is still climbing.
