Brett Young has reached the top of the country radio singles charts this week with his second single, “In Case You Didn’t Know.”
The song is the second release from Brett’s debut, self-titled album. The first single, “Sleep Without You” reached the #1 spot on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles chart.
The advanced release of the Billboard Country Radio Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts shows that “In Case You Didn’t Know” has ascended to the number one spot on both charts for this week. That gives Brett back-to-back #1 singles for his first two songs released!
Brett co-wrote his current chart topper with Tyler Reeve, Kyle Schlienger and Trent Tomlinson. The lyrics of the song sound quite personal. Brett reveals that his does not shy away from those kinds of songs, “there are songs that are extremely personal and with something like that it is going to be a handful of performances of that song before you are able to get to a place where you’re only focused on the business side of it, but I think that that’s great. I don’t think there’s any shame in getting a little emotional over something that you’re clearly telling people you’ve lived and gone through.”
The number one status for “In Case You Didn’t Know” makes a good pairing with the news last week that the song had reached Platinum status for the sale of over one million units.
Congratulations to Brett Young on his second #1 single “In Case You Didn’t Know.”
