Thomas Rhett is about to become a daddy times two. He recalls when he found out Lauren (his wife) was pregnant while on safari.

There is no doubt that Thomas Rhett loves his wife. Lauren has been the inspiration for some of her husband’s songs including the award winning, mega-hit “Die A Happy Man.” Thomas Rhett isn’t shy about talking about his high school sweetheart wife in interviews and posting pictures of her on his social media accounts … often.

He is equally excited about becoming a father. His love for his wife and their forthcoming child is often the subject of his posts on social media as well. Just check out the picture and message posted earlier today (5/10) by the country music singer-songwriter…

Thomas Rhett and Lauren will have their own child and are also adopting a child from Africa as most country music fans already know.

However, what you may not know is when and where Thomas Rhett was when he found out that Lauren was pregnant.

“We were on a safari with Tyler (Hubbard) and his wife and in the middle of literally nowhere,” he shares.

Even being who he is and having half of the mega-duo Florida Georgia Line with him didn’t mean that the most normal things that can be found pretty much everywhere in most places would be available on safari in Africa. “The fact that we even found a pregnancy test to begin with was a miracle,” Thomas Rhett admits.

What was he doing when the news of a positive for the hard-to-find pregnancy test was delivered?

“I was in the gym working out and they all came in and said, ‘We’re having a baby,” he explains. “I was like, ‘You are kidding me! Like how in the world are we about to have two kids within less than a year?’”

While he may have been a bit taken back by the news, he was very happy about it.

“Honestly I was just overjoyed,” Thomas Rhett confesses, “I always wanted twins and this is about as close as it gets, I think.”

Knowing Thomas Rhett’s father Rhett Akins personally, I can say with confidence that I know Thomas Rhett is going to be an excellent father just like his dad is.

Really it is kind of appropriate that Thomas Rhett found out about his wife being pregnant while on safari in Africa. I mean, they are adopting a child from Africa and having their own baby the same year is going to be a kind of safari of its own for the two. 🙂
