Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of fallen Bloomington Soldier Josh Rodgers. Josh was killed this week while fighting ISIS in Afghanistan.
Josh graduated from Normal Community High School in 2013, and is a huge loss for our community. It’s never easy to hear about a life lost, especially of someone who has chosen to fight for our Country.
Keep Josh’s family and friends in your hearts and prayers.
Our sister station WJBC tells us that State Representative Dan Brady will lead House colleagues in a moment of silence today to honor Josh.
“We as the Illinois House of Representatives stand with them and extend our sympathies, our deepest sympathies, for a young man who’s paid the ultimate price,” said Brady.
Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner also expects the city council to adopt a proclamation for Rodgers, and he will honor his memory when he is sworn in for a second term as Mayor on Monday.
“This is real. This is a very young life that was taken from us, our community, our nation, our world,” the mayor said.
