Last night (4/17) the “Live Playoffs” began on The Voice Season 12. Which members of Blake Shelton‘s team made it through to next week? Let’s take a look at that.
To begin with, the “Live Playoffs” on The Voice means that America gets a vote on which artists remain on the show. Each team entered the first week of live shows with five artists that won in the “Knockout Rounds.” Each coach then got to choose one artist to come back for the live shows that had been eliminated to make a total of sex artists per team for the first week of live performances. Blake chose to bring back Felicia Temple who was eliminated during the “Knockout Rounds.”
Night one of the “Live Playoffs” featured Team Blake and Team Alicia performing for the votes. America got to vote two artists through to next week’s competition and the coach picked one more artist to advance. This year the voting results were tallied and revealed at the end of the two-hour live episode.
Let’s take a look at the Team Blake live performances from last night.
Casi Joy performed the song “Parachute” by Chris Stapleton.
Aliyah Moulden performed Duffy’s song “Mercy.”
Felicia Temple sang the song “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway show “Wicked.”
Lauren Duski performed “Someone Else’s Star” by Bryan White.
Aaliyah Rose sang “Brass In Pocket” by The Pretenders.
TSoul performed Eddie Floyd’s song “Knock On Wood.”
At the end of the show, we watched as the voting results were revealed and Blake Shelton chose the final artist that would advance on Team Blake.
America voted for Aliyah Moulden and Lauren Duski with Blake choosing TSoul to make the Top 12. These three will return to perform live next week on season 12 of The Voice. You can see which artists advanced on Team Alicia at the official website of The Voice here.
Tonight (4/18) starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC the “Live Playoffs” continue on The Voice as Team Adam and Team Gwen perform live with the hope of advancing to the Top 12 and next week’s shows.
