Last night (3/21) was night two of the Battle Rounds on The Voice Season 12 and unfortunately University of Illinois (U of I) student Micah Tryba was eliminated from Team Blake and the show.

I have said many times (and will continue to say) I do not like the video montage thing that is done on The Voice during the early rounds. It is really about the only thing I do not like on the show. I feel if the singers are good enough to be on the show we should get to see their performances on the show.

That being said, the video montage is how we found out that the local college student did not advance on the show. Micah was paired with Andrea Thomas and Blake Shelton chose to keep Andrea on Team Blake moving forward.

I must say that Micah seems to be taking everything in stride based on her posts on social media. You can follow along to see what is next for this talented young singer here on Facebook and here on Twitter. Last night after her elimination from The Voice was aired on TV, she posted the following message…

Congratulations on making it further on the show than many ever do or most would even attempt Micah! Let us know what is happening in your musical career so we can continue to support you!

The only other Team Blake battle to air last night was between Aliyah Moulden and Dawson Coyle. Blake gave the two teenage singer the song “Walking On Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves. The aspiring artists put on quite a good show with their performance of the song. I felt that Aliyah slightly edged out Dawson in vocal ability and Blake must have heard it the same way as he chose to keep her on his team.

Just as Dawson was about to shake hands with Blake and leave the set Alicia hit her button to “Steal” him over to her team for the next round of competition.

You can find out where all four teams stand on the official website of The Voice here.

The Battle Rounds continue next week on season 12 of The Voice as the coaches continue to cut down their teams Monday, March 27th at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time).
