Kelsea Ballerini is one of the hottest new female artists on the country music scene. She has an item on her bucket list that might make you laugh, but she doesn’t care.
The singer-songwriter has to be checking off things on her bucket list quite often in the past couple of years.
I mean, she recorded a country album and released it. [Bucket List Item: Check] The First Time is even a top five album on the country album sales chart for Kelsea and continues to sell a lot of copies weekly.
Those album sales are helped by the first three singles hitting #1 on the country radio airplay singles charts: “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs” and “Peter Pan.” [Bucket List Item: Check, Check and Check]
Kelsea’s fourth single “Yeah Boy” has reached the top 10 on the country radio airplay singles chart this week and is continuing to climb. That could bring another “check” to that bucket list item should it also make it to the top of the charts.
She has recently gotten engaged to be married. [Bucket List Item: Check]
Kelsea has opened for major country music stars on tour. [Bucket List: Check] She even headlined her own “The First Time Tour.” [Bucket List Item: Check]
She has been nominated for awards and she has won awards like the 2016 ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year. [Bucket List Item: Check]
However, there is one thing on her bucket list that is apparently a big item to her that she has NOT been able to put a check next to yet.
“I have a long bucket list, and everyone makes fun of me for this one that’s why I always say it,” Kelsea explains, “But, I remember when I had my first meeting with CAA, they go, ‘Kelsea, what’s your dream. Like what’s your goal – what do you want to do?’ And without even thinking I said, ‘I want to come up on a hydraulic lift,’ and that’s…that’s on my bucket list – that’s a real thing, and I’m not even sorry about it (laughs).”
That item doesn’t make me laugh … smile, but not laugh. Personally, I think it’s a cool bucket list item for a singer to have.
Good luck on getting that one checked off Kelsea. I imagine that if things keep going the way they are for you (and I don’t see why they wouldn’t) that item will have a check next to it sooner rather than later.
Make sure to watch the 52nd ACM Awards, Sunday April 2nd, 8/7 central on CBS to see if Kelsea gets any more “checks” as she is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Video of the Year for her song “Peter Pan.”
