Blake Shelton has been having great luck claiming artists for Team Blake on season 12 of The Voice … until this week.
When the week started Blake was tied with Alicia Keys for the most artists on their teams at five each. Monday (3/6) Blake added only one artist to his team, University of Illinois student Micah Tryba.
Last night (3/7) the Blind Auditions continued on The Voice with the coaches working hard to claim artists for their respective teams.
Josh Hoyer took the stage to perform his version of “Oh Girl” by the Chi-Lites. The 40-year-old had both Blake and Gwen Stefani looking at each other with the thought of pressing their buttons. Blake did press his and Gwen followed suit immediately. The two coaches gave their best efforts to convince Josh to choose them as a coach on the show. I thought that Gwen had made the best pitch and when the time came to choose, Josh’s daughter was yelling “Gwen, Gwen, Gwen.” However, Josh decided to go with Blake as his coach.
Blake pushed his button for more artists, but they did not choose him as his coach. The week ended with Blake having the lowest total of artists on his team at seven. Gwen and Alicia Keys are at eight artists each on their teams. Adam Levine scored the most artists this week to put his team total to nine artists, the most to this point. See what artists are on all the teams of The Voice Season 12 at the official website here.
The Blind Auditions will continue Monday, March 13th on The Voice Season 12. Perhaps next week Blake’s charm and dimples will be back at full strength to claim artists for Team Blake.
