The Blind Auditions continued last night on The Voice Season 12. Was Blake Shelton able to add any artists to Team Blake?
The show started out with Micah Tryba‘s Blind Audition. She is the University of Illinois (U of I) student that we told you we spotted in a promo video a couple of weeks ago. I was glad that I did not have to wait at all for her audition when the show started.
Micah took on Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman” for her audition, not an easy task. Her performance was enough to get Blake to push his button first. Late in the performance Gwen Stefani looked toward Blake to see if he thought she should push her button too. Blake tried to convince her not to push, but Gwen did it anyway. That meant Blake would now have to battle his girlfriend to get Micah on his team.
Gwen put forth a very convincing argument as to why Micah should join Team Gwen. I really thought Blake had not fought hard enough to win over the singer from Wheaton, IL. However, Micah decided to go with “what her gut had told her” heading into the entire experience of auditioning for the show and chose to be a part of Team Blake.
By the way, if you would like to follow Micah on social media you can on Facebook here and on Twitter here.
Blake tried to add other artists to his team through the night, but Micah was the only one to choose him last night. You can see what other artists joined the other three teams at the official website of The Voice here.
Just to add a personal note, I was very happy to see Micah choose Blake Shelton as her coach. Since I have been #TeamBlake since season one, it is a double win for me to be able to root for a somewhat local singer (U of I is just over 30 miles from where I live) on the team I always support on The Voice.
The Blind Auditions continue tonight on season 12 of The Voice starting at 7:00 PM central time (8:00 PM eastern time) on NBC.
