The 2017 Bloomington Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Illinois is this Saturday (2/25) and her are some details you need to know.
For those plungers who would like to pre-register and turn in the money that you have raised before Saturday’s plunge to save time, you can go to the Normal Buffalo Wild Wings location (603 S. Main St., Normal) Wednesday evening (2/22) from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM to do just that. In addition, if you decide to grab some wings or dinner it can be additional help to Special Olympics of Illinois.
Print this flyer for the Normal Buffalo Wild Wings pre-registration event and present it to your server so that 15% of your bill will go back to Special Olympics Illinois!
- The tickets need to be printed. They do not need to be printed in color. Digital copies will not be accepted.
- One check per ticket. For example, if a group of four pays on one check, they only need to have one ticket. If they pay on two checks, they need to have 2 tickets.
- ANYONE can use them! These flyers can be presented by anyone, not just our Plungers. So invite your friends and family to join you, grab some dinner and help the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois!
If you cannot make the pre-registration event, you may register on the day of the Plunge. Registration will begin at 9:30 AM and end at 11:45 AM on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Miller Park Lake Pavilion.
Don’t forget to bring your offline donations and to separate out your team money among team members!
The plunge is this Saturday at Miller Park Lake in Bloomington and will take place in two time shifts, 10:30 AM and 12 NOON. Plunge teams with over 20 members will plunge at 10:30 AM and register at 9:30 a.m. All other groups and individuals will register at 10:30 AM and plunge at 12 NOON.
Plungers can park at Trinity Lutheran Church at 801 S. Madison Street in Bloomington. Buses will take Plungers and spectators to the Miller Park Lake Pavilion and drop off on S. Morris Ave. The shuttles will pick up every 15 minutes (9:15, 9:30; 9:45; etc.) from Trinity Lutheran. They will run continuous routes picking up and dropping off. The final round of shuttles will leave Trinity Lutheran at noon and will then only be running return routes from Miller Park until 2 p.m.
