Brantley Gilbert recalls the first time with his wife and shares some of the details…
No, not THAT first time… The first time he took his wife hunting.
Brantley and his wife Amber will celebrate their second wedding anniversary June 28th of this year. That means they are still basically newlyweds. Just like all newlyweds, both are still trying to include their other half in things they are passionate about.
For Brantley, one of those things is hunting. He recalls the first time he took Amber hunting with him. “I probably didn’t start off the right way,” Brantley confesses, the amends the statement saying, “Well, actually I started her off in the best way and not the right way all at the same time, but the timing was wrong.”
He explains that the first time he took her hunting was not at their home in the south, but actually in the mid-west, “I took her on New Year’s, so it was extremely cold in Iowa.”
Brantley also confesses that his wife’s bad first time hunting was also due to him being a bit forgetful, “I forgot the heater on the way to the stand one day, and it was so cold that her phone frozen.”
What was the big deal about her phone freezing? “Pinterest wouldn’t work,” Brantley explains, “So, that was a bad deal. Mama was not happy.”
I’m sure Brantley has made it up to Amber by now and both are looking forward to celebrating their second anniversary together later this year.
Brantley is currently out on his “The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour” with special guests Tucker Beathard and Luke Combs. That tour will stop here in town at the Bloomington Coliseum Friday, April 7th. Get the concert and ticket details here.
