Blake Shelton had to make a very tough choice last night in the Battle Rounds on The Voice Season 11 between two very talented artists.
Last night’s Battle Rounds episode was only one hour and #TeamBlake only had a single performance during the show. Blake paired Courtney Harrell with Ethan Tucker and had them sing the John Mayer song “Gravity.”
Both Team Blake artists performed the song very well with a soulful version that allowed them to highlight each of their own unique styles during the battle. Courtney’s vocal gymnastics and range paired very well with Ethan’s rich tone that has a unique gravely grit to it. Watch the performance for yourself below.
Blake made the decision with obvious struggle to move forward on the show with Courtney. I will say that I was very surprised that none of the other coaches chose to “Steal” Ethan, who is a very talented artist. I am sure that his time on the show will help Ethan to move to the next step in his musical career. Good Luck to you Ethan!
You can see where the other teams on The Voice stand at this point for season 11 here.
Next week the Battle Rounds continue on The Voice Season 11. Since Blake only had two battles in the first week, I would imagine we will get to see a lot more of #TeamBlake next week. In addition, we only saw a couple of “Steals” this week which leads me to believe we will see more of those next week as well.
The Battle Rounds will continue Monday night (10/17) at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on The Voice on NBC TV.
