Jon Pardi is likely going “Head Over Boots” as he gets to celebrate his first number one single of his career.
Jon was able to achieve a milestone with the first single from his second studio album that his first album fell a little short of. The debut album Write You A Song from the country singer-songwriter produced four charted singles including “Up All Night” which fell just short of a top ten at #11 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
The advanced charts from Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck are out and Jon not only made it to the top ten, but he also made it through to the pinnacle of both charts for this week to score his first #1 single. The song is the first single from Jon’s sophomore album titled California Sunrise, available everywhere now.
While “Head Over Boots” becomes Jon’s first number one single, it is his second Gold single following “Up All Night.” The Dixon, California native feels that scoring a Gold single shows the support of many people for a singer. “When you go gold, it’s amazing, you know? It is a show of fans really there for you, country radio really there for you, your record label behind you, and it’s a plaque that says, ‘Here’s to all your good hard work that you put out there,’” Jon shares.
He adds that the Gold plaque is pretty much like fans teaming with country radio to give him an award, “It’s almost like the fans give you that. It really is kind of cool ’cause they go on iTunes and they buy the single and they go and they stream it. It’s like our trophies as like they would say, and it’s country music radio coming together.”
Jon explains how special getting the Gold certification for “Head Over Boots” is to him, “Gold records are amazing, and it’s my second gold record. I swear it was like it was never going to come again and now it’s here.”
Now that “Head Over Boots” has reached the top spot on the singles charts, making it an official hit song, Jon reveals he wasn’t sure if the song would make it at country radio or not at first, “Man, you don’t know any song’s gonna be a hit. I don’t care what you think you know. It’s up to the people and the fans that really…that really truly make it a hit. And, I always loved “Head Over Boots.’ I thought it was the coolest song. It’s country, it’s very kind of, you know, soulful. And, it’s happy, good feeling good ole kinda country soundin’ song, and I think we just needed that on country radio.”
Now Jon will have a number one award to put up on the wall next to the Gold award for his latest single “Head Over Boots,” it’ll be a well-deserved pair or “trophies” for him.
Jon is currently out with Kip Moore on the “Me And My Kind Tour” which will make a stop at the Peoria Civic Center Theater Friday, November 18th. Tickets are available now and you can get all the concert details here.
Congratulations to Jon Pardi on his first number one single “Head over Boots.”
