Carrie Underwood celebrated back-to-back #1 songs yesterday (8/11) in Nashville and she revealed some news at the event as well.
The party celebrated Carrie’s chart topping songs “Heartbeat” and “Church Bells.” Joining Carrie in front of the music industry party guests were the writers of the songs Ashley Gorley, Zach Crowell, Brett James and Hillary Lindsey.
The songwriters and Carrie gave an intimate performance of the two chart-toppers. Carrie used her official Periscope account and Twitter account to share some of the party with fans live including the performance of the two songs being celebrated.

Carrie was a co-writer on the song “Heartbeat,” but was not on the song “Church Bells.” Carrie explained what drew her to the song she didn’t have a hand in writing, “I love story songs obviously, but I also love just empowered women songs. I mean, I wouldn’t ever want any woman to feel like she had to go kill her husband (laughs). That goes without saying, but I’m gonna go ahead and say it. But, I don’t know, I just … I feel like in a lot of songs sometimes – or in a lot of movies or stories or whatever – like, people kinda have to be pushed to their limits to act and to kind of find that inner strength. And, I love a good, strong woman song.”
Carrie also revealed at the party that the song called “Dirty Laundry” from her #1 album Storyteller would be the next single released. You can listen to Carrie’s next single at the bottom of the page. Carrie and her songwriting friends performed that new single as well as her 2005 hit single “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” which Hillary Lindsey and Brett James also co-wrote, at the party as well.
