Carrie Underwood‘s latest singles “Church Bells” rings in at #1 this week on the country radio airplay singles charts.

Looking at the advanced Billboard Country Radio Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts for this week, Carrie has hit the top spot on both charts.

“Church Bells” becomes the third chart topping single from Carrie’s current #1 album Storyteller. The song also marks the 24th number one single in her career.

The song tells the story of a woman who has to overcome a tough life. As far as how the character in the song does that Carrie explains, “She starts out, you know, she’s young, she’s pretty, she’s poor. Doing what she can to survive. [She] meets a man that has a lot of wealth, and it is supposed to take care of her, and get her out of this, and she ends up with him.”

When the “fairy tale” turns to a “nightmare” for the character, Carrie explains that she has to do what she can in order to survive again, in a different way, “He ends up not being a good guy and all and it forces her to be strong, and it forces her to do something that she never thought she’d be able to do.”

You know, Carrie really seems like a sweet and wholesome person, wife and mom. You know, to use one her song titles, a real “All-American Girl.” However, in many of the songs she writes she seems to have a real “don’t mess with me” side to her as well.

Congratulations to Carrie Underwood on her latest #1 single “Church Bells.” To her husband Mike Fisher, take your wife’s song writing as fair warning. LOL
