Keith Urban paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting with a touching rendition of U2’s song “One.”
Keith’s “RipCORD World Tour” stopped in Tampa, Florida June 17th, just days after the tragic event happened in Orlando. He came back out on stage for an encore to what was a “sweat-soaked two-hour concert” according to NashCountryDaily.com.
In the video above, Keith walks up to the microphone and tells the audience, “They’re gonna kick us off at 11, but before we go, I want to say one thing that’s been really on my heart for the last week. I know we’ve gotta lot of folks here from Orlando tonight. And although I didn’t know anybody in that horrific incident, I did, because they’re just guys and girls, brothers, sisters. They had dreams and hopes, plans, just like every one of us. So, I know them like I know you guys.”
Keith then performed a very touching version of the song “One” after which he says, “God bless you Orlando. Orlando Strong!”
Well done Keith, well done.
