Rascal Flatts’ “Bless The Broken Road” Inspires a Movie

The hit song from Rascal Flatts called “Bless The Broken Road” is the inspiration behind a new movie that will be released late this year or early next year.

More than a decade after it was released the song will gain new life through a faith-based film according to the website Deadline. To be completely accurate the song was originally done by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

However, the remake of the song by Rascal Flatts became one of the biggest hits of their career selling over one million copies and becoming their first Platinum certified single. The song was also won the Grammy award for Best Country Song in 2006.

Taking charge of the movie is God’s Not Dead director Harold Cronk. The film’s title will be God Bless The Broken Road and will “combine elements of faith, country music and stock car racing while honoring the men and women serving our country” according to Deadline. The movie will revolve around a young mother whose husband is killed in Afghanistan. The young woman then struggles to raise their daughter without him.

The song has been a favorite at weddings for many years now, it will be interesting to see how the movie inspired by the Rascal Flatts/Nitty Gritty Dirt Band song “Bless The Broken Road” does.
