Blake Shelton shared details about the song he wrote with girlfriend Gwen Stefani that will be his new album.
Last week Gwen revealed the track list for Blake’s new album If I’m Honest by Tweeting a picture of the back cover of the album. That picture confirmed that the two recorded a duet for the new album.
Blake told Entertainment Tonight that what the picture didn’t reveal was that the song (track number nine titled “Go Ahead And Break My Heart“) was co-written by the two.
Blake elaborated about the song saying it is, “Very personal for us both because, you know, we obviously have this bond that is remarkable together.”
He also shared that for them to write a song together may never happen again, “I don’t co-write that much because I’m very insecure about it I guess, I don’t know why. And Gwen doesn’t, you know she’s kind of got her circle of people that she writes with. But, for us to reach out to each other as writers was … it may never happen again, who knows.”
How does Blake feel about the song he co-wrote and recorded with Gwen? “I hesitate to brag on it too much,” Blake confesses, adding, “but I really think that it’s as good of a song as I’ve ever written in my life.”
I am really looking forward to hearing the collaboration as well as the entire project when Blake Shelton’s new album If I’m Honest drops May 20th.
