The Live Playoffs on season 10 of The Voice premiered last night (4/11) with Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera coaching their teams through the performances.
You can watch the performances from Team Xtina by clicking here, but let’s look at the Team Blake performance in the videos below.
Paxton Ingram performed the Calvin Harris dance club hit song “How Deep Is Your Love.” He showed off some of his dance moves as he provided a high-energy song for the audience.
Next it was Katie Basden who added her style to the Trisha Yearwood song “Georgia Rain.” Katie definitely created some vocal rain that drenched the studio audience watching her.
Joe Maye took a different approach than the Doobbie Brothers on the song “Long Train Running” which allowed him to build the performance from a slow start to a speeding locomotive vocally.
Adam Wakefield used his solo performance to cover both the country and soul sound of the duet “Seven Spanish Angels” by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles and added his very own sound to the song.
Mary Sarah took her own approach to the Lynn Anderson classic country hit “(I Never Promised You A) Rose Garden” to honor the original while giving it a more modern feel at the same time.
Blake’s “Coach Comeback” pick was Justin Whisnant who hopes that his second chance performance of Travis Tritt’s “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)” will be enough to get fans to vote him through to the next round.
Tonight it will be Team Adam and Team Pharrell taking the stage on “The Voice” for live performances on season 10 as the Live Playoffs continue. Watch the preview video for tonight’s show at the bottom of the page.
Tomorrow during the Live Elimination show the teams will be cut in half as America will vote two artists from each team to remain on the show. Then, each coach will have to choose just one out of the remaining four artists on their teams to advance to the Top 12.
Which three artists will remain on Team Blake and make the Top 12 on season 10 of The Voice? I’ll just say that I am glad that I am not Blake Shelton who will have to make a very tough decision tomorrow night.
