Blake Shelton wrote a co-wrote a Christian song called “Savior’s Shadow” that is receiving amazing accolades from fans that are inspired by the lyrics.
Last week Blake released the song to Christian radio and on YouTube and the response was immediate and overwhelmingly positive. I have been watching social media posts about the song and have yet to see a single negative comment about “Savior’s Shadow” since its release.
Blake was inspired to write the song from a dream he had. “At a very dark time in my life last year I dreamed the first verse of this song,” Blake Shares, continuing, “I woke up and immediately wrote it down. Now, looking back, I know it was God’s way of telling me that he’s here and things are gonna be OK.”
The song has made it to #1 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel Chart.
Blake completed the song with the help of songwriters Jessi Alexander and Jon Randall. The song will be on the forthcoming new album If I’m Honest from Blake Shelton which is scheduled for release May 20th.
Blake himself has been overwhelmed by the response to the song. Just today (4/12) he posted the message, “Woke up this morning to more and more incredible reaction to “Saviors Shadow”… I’m so grateful” to his Twitter account.
