Blake Shelton was at Texas Motor Speedway last week with NASCAR and NBC Sports to record the open of the TV network’s 2016 Sprint Cup coverage.

Blake recorded a video open for the coverage of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup series on NBC using his song “Bringing Back The Sunshine.” He will again provide the open for the network’s 2016 coverage when it switches from FOX to NBC later in the season.

The open of the TV broadcasts will again feature the song “Bringing Back The Sunshine,” but Blake says he has created a new version of the song. “I don’t want people to get tired of my stuff, so we had to try and change it up a little bit,” he told USA Today Sports.

Part of the filming at Texas Motor Speedway was Blake along with NASCAR drivers like Clint Bowyer and Jimmie Johnson enjoying a barbecue on the infield of the track. “They wanted no audio, just B roll of us laughing and having fun,” Jimmie explained, adding, “With Clint and Blake in the same room, it’s very easy to laugh, so they got what they needed.”

Blake and Clint are buddies away from the filming of the NBC Sports NASCAR open, which Blake says presented a challenge for filming the piece with them together, “It’s just that much more of a distraction and so when we’re trying to actually make some television and Clint’s in here and I’m in here, it’s hard to be professional.”

Blake will be on NBC tonight (4/11) as season 10 of The Voice moves to the live shows with him and Team Blake working on scoring a fifth with on the hit singing competition reality show.
