The Academy of Country Music (ACM) announced a collaboration performance with Dolly Parton and Katy Perry and Dierks Bentley revealed he’s having nightmares about co-hosting the ACM Awards Show.
That’s right, superstar and iconic country music legend Dolly Parton will join voices with pop music superstar Katy Perry for a can’t-miss, first-ever live performance together on the 51st Annual ACM Awards Show. Both superstars are excited about the epic duet.
Dolly posted the message to her Twitter account, “I’ll be collaborating with the ever amazing and oh so talented @katyperry at this years @ACMAwards!”
Katy then re-tweeted Dolly’s message and added her own message, “MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED🏼 I shall remember though that I am but one sequin on this living legend’s costume!”
The two superstar ladies join the already announced amazing line-up of artists scheduled to perform that include Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Cam, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Sam Hunt, Tim McGraw, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Chris Young with Cassadee Pope and Florida Georgia Line. Additional acts and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.
Dolly will also be receiving the Tex Ritter Award this year. The 10-time ACM Award winner is presented this award for her TV movie Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors. The Tex Ritter Award is given to a movie released and/or receiving major exposure during the preceding calendar year, featuring or utilizing country music.
The ACM Awards Show will be co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley. Dierks posted on his Facebook and Twitter accounts the message “Keep having this reoccurring nightmare…” and attached the video that you can watch at the bottom of this page.
The 51st ACM Awards Show will be broadcast live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 3rd at 8:00 PM live ET/7:00 PM live CT/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
