Last night (2/29) season 10 of The Voice premiered with the first Blind Auditions where Blake Shelton and the other coaches began building their teams.
I am #TeamBlake and have been since season one of the award winning TV reality show-singing competition. After all, I am a country music radio disc jockey. That is just one reason why each season I focus on and support Blake’s team on the show.
I will tell you that Pharrell Williams added the most artists to his team in the premiere episode of season 10 with three hopefuls choosing him as their coach. Adam Levine scored two artists for his team and so did Christina Aguilera including Alison Porter. Alison is a former child-actress who played “Curly Sue” in the movie “Curly Sue” along with co-star James Belushi. She is now pursuing what she calls her true passion, music, and will chase that dream on Team Xtina. You can see more about these three teams here.
Now on to Team Blake. The first blind audition of the night was former dancer Paxton Ingram. He performed his version of “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn which motivated Blake, Pharrell and Adam to all push their buttons. In the end Paxton made a somewhat surprising choice of Blake as his coach.
I was blown away to see one of my Twitter friends Mary Sarah on The Voice! She and I have followed each other for many years now. Most of what the short biography the show used to introduce her to America I have watched happen through the social media platform including her friendship and support from The Oak Ridge Boys. It is great to know that this talented, hard-working young lady is going to get at the very least some great exposure on the TV show and could quite possibly win it!
Mary Sarah puts her styling to the classic hit “Where The Boys Are” by Connie Francis. Her 90 second rendition got all four coaches to push their buttons! They all gave solid pitches to Mary Sarah to join their teams. However, in the end she said that she had to “go with her gut on this one” and chose to join Team Blake.
The Blind Auditions continue tonight on season 10 of The Voice as the coaches continue to build their teams. The show has posted the leaked Blind Audition of Kata Hay’s sassy version of Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman” that got last minute chair turns from every coach except Blake Shelton. We don’t see who she chooses, but we do see her hug and kiss the three coaches that turned. We also find out that she and Blake performed together when she was three and Blake still had a mullet (he will never get away from that legendary hairdo). There is also a chance that we will see her and Christina “make out” tonight when the show airs starting at 7 PM central time on NBC.
