Kelsea Ballerini has scored her second #1 single with her song “Dibs” this week.
The advanced charts for radio airplay have been released and this week Kelsea has topped both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts.
“Dibs” is the follow-up to her chart topping debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It.” So, that means not only is this her second number one single, it is also her second consecutive chart topper out of two released.
Both songs can be found on her debut album The First Time which can be found at music stores and digitally everywhere now.
Kelsea got the news of her #1 Saturday night (2/20) and posted the picture below to her Instagram account Sunday along with the message, “late last night, I got a call that my second single Dibs was the number one song on country radio. I was surrounded with many of my favorite people in the world. These moments are so precious and cherished, and ones that I’ll hold in my heart forever. Sending giant hugs to everyone who has played this song on the radio, turned it up on the radio, sang it sassily to the person they like, downloaded it, and supported it. We just made history together. Gonna go cry now.”
In the picture you can see both CMT’s Cody Allan and country music star Hunter Hayes (both in back row) along with several other friends with Kelsea (second from the left in the front row).
How does Kelsea feel about having another number one single? “I don’t even know, it’s crazy. Like, I put out ‘Love Me’ a little over a year and a half ago and so much has happened since then, so much has happened. And, just to have two songs that have been embraced like they have been and to go all the way to number one is an honor,” Kelsea shares, adding, “It’s an honor that country music and country radio have given me that voice that I wanted since I was twelve.”
