Reba McEntire has a new song called “Just Like Them Horses” which is a tribute to her late father, but she says that her mama is the real star of the music video.
Reba’s dad, Clark McEntire, passed away in 2014. When she was growing, “Daddy was always gone rodeoing,” Reba shares, adding, “When he was home he was up in the hills taking care of the cattle or going to Mississippi or Florida, Louisiana… somewhere to buy cattle.”
The country music icon reveals that while the song is a tribute to her father, “mama is the real star of the video in my opinion because she’s the woman that was the glue for the family all our lives.”
Reba was one of four children born in five years, and while her dad was away from home it was her mother that was the “conduit” for the family every day.
That is why it was important to country singer that her mama was a part of the music video in the song that is a tribute to her daddy,
“She was the one that I really wanted in that video,” Reba shares, adding, “It was so sweet that she was the one that was coming to get me on the hill.”
“Just Like Them Horses” can be found on Reba’s latest #1 album Love Somebody available at music stores and digitally everywhere now.
