Yesterday (1/12) Chris Janson got to enjoy his first ever #1 party for his own song “Buy Me A Boat.”
Last year the singer-songwriter scored his first chart topping single as a singer with the title track of his debut album. “Buy Me A Boat” also became his first Platinum selling song as an artist.
Chris finally got to celebrate those milestones in Nashville yesterday. Before the party he talked about the accomplishments, “I had a list of goals that I wanted to achieve when I moved to town and this was one of ’em, but it was like pretty far off in the distance ’cause you never really know if you’re gonna get it. I mean, it’s kind of viewed as one of the unattainables, unless you just get real lucky.”
Chris also talked about how he does not take these milestones for granted, “I feel real blessed, and I’m just grateful, man. I’m grateful that it’s also a song that I picked and that I like and that I wrote, and that’s just all the more to be proud for it, you know. And, dreams come true, man, you just put the work in and it happens…I mean, it will happen. It took me…this is my tenth year in Nashville so ten years. And, it’s a very emotional day for me, too. I mean, it’s all I ever really wanted, so. This is the first number one party I’ve ever been to, so I’m pretty stoked it’s mine.”
Chris even posted the picture above of his #1 Platinum plaque for “Buy Me A Boat” on his Twitter account along with the message, “Overwhelmed, today was the 1st time ever to go to a #1 party. So incredibly blessed,my heart is full.Thankyou”
He then posted the following message on Twitter as well,
