The person that broke into Kacey Musgraves‘ car in Nashville and stole her boots has been busted!

It was the man’s stupidity that got him arrested. Kacey was watching a show at Nashville’s 3rd and Lindsley last Monday night (1/4) when her car was broken into and the boots were stolen.

Kacey took to social media to rant about the violation which became a news story across the nation in the country music community and industry. Since Nashville is the center of the country music nation, you know it was big news there.

This is where the man’s stupidity got him busted. After days of publicity about the theft, he still tried to return the stolen boots to the Lucchese Boots store in Nashville. Wait, the brainless act gets even larger, he did it with the receipt that had Kacey’s name on it!

According to The Tennessean, the store general manager recognized the boots and saw the name on the receipt. When he questioned the man about the boots based on the news stories, the man allegedly grabbed the boots and ran out of the store. However, he had already been caught on the store’s video security camera trying to return the boots. That allowed police to identify him and arrest him for the burglary.

Kacey returned to Twitter yesterday (1/7) to share the news and her thoughts about the arrest by posting the message below.

According to the police report the boots were valued at about $900 and the damage to the passenger window of Kacey’s car was estimated at about $500.

Of course the man is considered innocent until proven guilty, but come on, he was kind of caught red-handed.
