Carrie Underwood is just 32-years-old, but thinks she’s old-school when it comes to purchasing albums since she prefers a physical copy over a digital album.
“I’m one of those, like, old-fashioned, I guess you could call me now, old-school people that I like to go out and buy an album. There’s something about it,” Carrie explains.
She feels like people miss part of the album if they don’t have the complete physical album, “There’s something about holding it in your hand, you have the CD, you can put the CD in your car, you see the pictures, you see the words, you see the thank-yous — like, there’s so much love that goes into creating an album, and a lot of times, I feel like people miss it because they’re not physically holding it in their hands. And that’s today, you know?”
While hard-copies of albums is her preference that doesn’t mean she doesn’t buy music digitally at all, “It’s so great for me ’cause I’ve bought CDs three times that I’ve lost three times, and now I get to go — I buy my favorite songs (laughs) on iTunes! It’s awesome!”
Carrie is nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist on tonight’s (1/6) People’s Choice Awards which will air starting at 8 PM central time on CBS.
The superstar country singer-songwriter is also nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance for “Little Toy Guns.” The 58TH Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center on CBS February 15th.
