Most of us if asked about a National Landmark would know what it was, but the trouble according to recent research show we don’t know what states the National landmarks are in. In a recent survey of about two thousand people 57% didn’t know that the Grand Canyon was in Arizona.

The Space Needle is in Seattle, Washington, but 63% thought it was in Florida and 40% don’t know that Mount Rushmore is in South Dakota. I’m sure this will bring up the argument that our schools aren’t doing the job in Social Studies or is the interest just not there? I think we just need to start loading the family in our vehicles and visiting these places, but it’s pretty hard to do if you don’t know where you’re going.
