Tonight (12/15) we will find out who wins season nine of “The Voice.” Do the iTunes sales indicate who that will be?
Last night the final four performed live on the show for your votes for the last time. They will all take the stage again tonight during the live season finale. However, the voting will be over so it will strictly be for fun and entertainment while we await the revealing of the results of the voting.
I checked the iTunes chart today at just past 8 AM central time to see how that method of voting was stacking up for the final four. They were all doing very well and inside the top 10 with their solo performances. I believe the solo performance (non-holiday song) are the only sales that count as votes for each artist (I could be wrong on that though). With that in mind, I am going to post the performances from last night’s show (solo, non-holiday song) in the order that they ranked on iTunes when I checked below.
#2 – Emily Ann Roberts “Burning House” – Team Blake
Emily Ann also performed “Islands In The Stream” with Blake Shelton (which was at #6 on the iTunes chart) and “Blue Christmas” (which was at #13 on the iTunes chart). You can watch those two performances below.
#3 – Jordan Smith “Climb Every Mountain – Team Adam
Jordan performed “God Only Knows” with Adam Levine (#5 on iTunes chart) and “Mary Did You Know” (#1 on iTunes chart). Watch those performances below.
#7 – Barrett Baber “Die A Happy Man” – Team Blake
Barrett joined Blake Shelton to perform “Rhinestone Cowboy” (#18 on iTunes) and he also sang “Silent Night” (#22 on iTunes) which you can watch below.
#8 – Jeffery Austin “Stay” – Team Gwen
Jeffery joined his coach Gwen Stefani to perform “Leather And Lace” (#15 on iTunes) and he also sang “O Holy Night” (#21 on iTunes) which are posted just below.
With all four artists in the top 10 on iTunes (should they remain there at the end of voting) those votes will be multiplied by 10. That kind of evens out that bonus out for them all (if the solo, non holiday performance is the only one that counts as votes).
There are a few other methods of voting and voting closes at 11 AM central time (12 noon eastern), so the above sales may not reflect the actual order the artists will finish the competition ranked. It is just fun to see what this method of voting is reflecting. Additionally, remember that all of the iTunes sales from the entire season for the final four count towards that artist’s final vote count. That could also make a difference in who wins season nine.
The only way to know for sure what the final results are is to tune in for the live season nine finale of “The Voice” starting at 8 PM central time tonight on NBC.
