I’ve been a music buff for quite awhile and with music come many mysteries as to how certain songs came about. One of the biggest mysteries was the song ‘You’re So Vain’ which was written and sang by Carly Simon and for years we’ve never known who the song was about.
Today she released the name of the person who one part of the song was about: The verse that contains the lyrics, ‘You had me several years ago, when I was still quite naive/You said that we made such a pretty pair and that you would never leave.’
The lyrics Carly confirmed are about Warren Beatty, but she also said that;
Warren thinks the whole thing is about him!” Don’t he? don’t he!
My guess is we’ll have to wait another 30 years to find out more. Here is the classic song from Carly Simon ‘You’re So Vain’ enjoy it Warren Beatty.
