Blake Shelton said we would never guess his big announcement and he was right. Who would have guessed that he would reveal he is the host for the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards!?

Blake appeared on the ‘Today Show‘ this morning with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb to reveal the news. Blake told the ladies, “My agent called and was like, ‘Man, you know, is there anything that you can think of that you’d want to do?’ … and I actually had been thinking, ‘I want to host those Kids’ Choice Awards!’ … And she was like, ‘Uh, OK.”

Blake also told Kathie Lee and Hoda that a big reason he is doing the show is because, “I want to get slimed!” Based on the publicity picture from Nickelodeon above, he has already experienced that once. If you have ever watched the Kids’ Choice Awards in the past you know that he will get to experience it again as host. The 2016 Kids Choice Awards will air March 12th.

Blake has experience hosting award shows as he has hosted the ACM Awards with Reba first and then with Luke Bryan. However, he has never hosted an awards show alone AND this is a KIDS awards show. This could get interesting!
