Brett Eldredge takes ‘Illinois’ to Number One

Brett Eldredge has debuted at #1 on the Billboard chart with his sophomore album Illinois.

The album named after the singer-songwriter’s home state sold more than 43,000 copies in the first week of release scoring it a debut in the top spot on the Billboard Country Album sales chart. The album also put Brett in the top five on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart for the week.

Brett says he began writing for the second album as soon as his debut album Bring You Back was released. Describing the new album Illinois Brett says, “It’s more adventurous, better version of me and I loved the whole process of making the album. I have to thank my fans, my family and friends for all of their belief and support they have given me over the years.”

The debut album from the Paris, Illinois native produced three consecutive number one singles “Don’t Ya,” “Beat Of The Music” and “Mean To Me.” Brett’s sophomore album appears headed on a good start with the debut release from the project “Lose My Mind” sitting at #4 and climbing on the country singles charts this week.

Brett will be teaming up with Thomas Rhett for a co-headlining tour called “CMT On Tour: Brett Eldredge &Thomas Rhett – Suits & Boots” which kicks off October 29th.
