Strong Kids Program


Bloomington, Ill. (September 21, 2015) – The U.S. Cellular Coliseum is proud to announce the Sara Evans at Christmas tour is coming to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:30p.m.   The concert is a fundraiser for the Bloomington-Normal YMCA’s Strong Kids program and is brought to you by Berkshire Hathaway – Snyder Real Estate, Subway, B104 and 93.7 Nash Icon.

Multi-platinum selling country singer and songwriter, Sara Evans has been called “one of the most compelling vocalists of her generation.” Since emerging in the late 1990s, Evans has had a prolific recording career that has seen the sale of more than 6 million albums. She’s had five #1 songs, two #1 Billboard Country Albums, and four consecutive RIAA certified Gold, Platinum or Multi-Platinum albums. 

“The holidays have always been a special time for me and my family to get together and give thanks for everything we have been blessed with, “ said Evans.  Evans released her holiday album At Christmas in November 2014 and describes it as her way of celebrating the tradition and hoping to help other families celebrate the holidays.

Tickets for this event are $100, $60, $45 and $30 and will go on-sale Friday, September 25that 11a.m.

The Sara Evans at Christmas concert will benefit the Bloomington-Normal YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.  The YMCA is a non-profit, cause-driven organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Serving over 5000 people annually, the Bloomington-Normal Y is an independently operated, governed, and led organization with a national affiliation with the YMCA of the USA. The Y depends on the generosity of our donors, members, and program participants to fulfill our mission.

The Y helps children reach their potential by providing programs in the areas of child care, education, leadership, camps, swimming, sports, and play. Specifically, the Bloomington-Normal YMCA provides programs in Before/After School Child Care, Summer Day Camp, Swim Lessons, Swim Team, Youth Basketball, Performing Arts, Judo, Youth Fitness, and Home School Physical Education. The Y does this regardless of ones ability to pay.
