Jason Aldean says the number 2 million means a lot to him. It is not the number of albums sold or how much money he made. So, why does that number mean a lot to him?
The number 2 million is how many tickets he has sold on his “Burn It Down Tour.” That means a lot to the singer-songwriter. “That’s my favorite part of this business is getting out on the road and playing shows and doin’ all that stuff,” says Jason, adding, “So, if that’s goin’ good I know everything else is goin’ well.”
Jason has played for some pretty large crowds on the tour this past summer which has helped him reach that massive number, “You know, when you’re goin’ out and you’re playin’ stadiums and there’s forty-thousand, fifty-thousand in the stadium, you know, it…you play a few of those and it adds up quick.”
It is the fans that spend their hard-earned money on those concert tickets and that fact has not been lost on Jason. “It’s been fun and it’s cool to think that many people actually care enough to see us to go buy a ticket to come see a show,” Jason explains, “So, that’s a number to me that means a lot.”
While a massively successful concert tour did not earn him a CMA Awards nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year or Entertainer of the Year, Jason is up for CMA Album of the Year for his Old Boots, New Dirt album. The album has spawned three consecutive chart topping singles including “Burnin’ It Down,” “Just Gettin’ Started” and his latest #1 “Tonight Looks Good On You.” The fourth single from the album will be “Gonna Know We Were Here.” You can watch the lyric video for the song at the bottom of the page.
Congratulations to Jason Aldean on another amazingly successful tour and reaching 2 million tickets sold on the “Burn It Down Tour.”
