Carrie Underwood used her Facebook page to make a big announcement this afternoon that she has a new single “Smoke Break” from a new album Storyteller!

Carrie teased the big announcement over the past few days. Today at 4:00 pm central time the video at the bottom of this page was posted on Carrie’s Facebook page.

The superstar singer-songwriter thanked her fans for the past 10 years of support to start the announcement. Then, she revealed that she had new music in the form of a new single called “Smoke Break.” The song was co-written by Carrie and her “good friends” Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano.

Carrie describes the song as a story about how life gets so hectic and it’s good to step away for a second and take a break.

She said that the single will be available digitally everywhere “tonight”. You can see the single’s cover art to the right. (Click the cover to enlarge it.)

She also revealed that the song is from a new album called Storyteller that will be released October 23rd.
