What a sad, sad summer for some of our favorite country superstars…
First Blake & Miranda, then Reba & Narvel, and now Jake Owen and his wife.
Jake personally shared the sad news with his fans on Twitter last week. The 33-year-old country star and his wife Lacey are breaking up after three years of marriage.
He tweeted…
“Sadly, Lacey and I have decided to end our marriage…This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. We appreciate your privacy and support in this matter.” The two share a daughter, Pearl, who is almost 3 years old.
If you remember Jake and Lacey first met on the set of his video for “Eight Second Ride.” They got engaged in April 2012, when he proposed on stage at his alma mater, Vero Beach High School in Vero Beach, Fla and then one month later, the lovebirds exchanged vows on the beach at sunrise.
Nashville Kat told us this morning that Jake Owen had a performance at WE fest this weekend in Minnesota and was soo open and honest with his fans, saying: “My wife and I are getting a divorce and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done to walk onstage and try to pretend like everything’s awesome when it really ain’t always awesome.”
