Brad Paisley will be #TeamBlake when his fellow country star Blake Shelton returns for season nine as a coach on The Voice.

US Weekly reports that Brad will serve as mentor to Blake Shelton’s team on the hit NBC singing competition. The publication also reports that Brad was a true friend to Blake as they filmed the early stages of the show while news of Blake’s divorce from Miranda Lambert broke. “Brad was a good friend to Blake, and it was great for Blake to have him there — especially considering everything Blake is going through,” a source told the publication.

Brad is no stranger to TV singing competitions as he served as an expert panelist on ABC’s Rising Star last year.

Blake has the most wins as a coach on The Voice having won four of the eight seasons so far (seasons 2, 3, 4 and 7). Blake has had country music artists serve as mentor for his team before including Miranda Lambert, Reba, The Band Perry and Little Big Town.

US Weekly reports that the other mentors on season nine of The Voice will be Selena Gomez for Gwen Stefani’s team, John Fogerty for Adam Levine’s team and Missy Elliott for Pharrell Williams’ team.

Season nine of The Voice will return to NBC September 21st at 7 PM central time.
