Illinois Ranks Low on Patriotic List

This finding is pretty disturbing to me as finance site WallettHub ranked the most patriotic states in the U.S. The ranks were based on voting percentage, volunteer rates, enlisted military and veterans per capita.

The state at the top was Virginia and New York was at the bottom. If you’re wondering where Illinois ended up, you’ll be disappointed. We are one of the least patriotic states. I’m very uncomfortable with this finding because I know so many veterans and we live in an area that has a main road called Veterans Parkway.

The Memorial Day parade is a huge success each year and I really believe that there has to be another way to rank the most patriotic. I don’t want to take away from the winners on the list, but it’s unfair to say Illinois is one of the least. We need to prove them wrong and this 4th of July we should all hang our flags high.
